ঘরের মাঠে বিধ্বস্ত ত্রিপুরা। ইনিংস পরাজয় এড়াতে লড়ছে রাজ্য দল। বড় কোনও অঘটন না ঘটলে মঙ্গলবার তৃতীয় দিনেই গুটিয়ে যাবে ত্রিপুরা। মূলত ব্যাটসম্যানদের চূড়ান্ত ব্যর্থতায় ল্যাজেগোবরে হতে হচ্ছে রাজ্য দলকে। অনূর্ধ্ব -২৩ কর্নেল সি কে নাইডু ট্রফি ক্রিকেটে। ইনিংস পরাজয় এড়াতে ত্রিপুরার দরকার আরও ৩০৪ রান। সফরত সৌরাষ্ট্রের গড়া ৪৫৪ রানের জবাবে ত্রিপুরার প্রথম ইনিংস শেষ হয়ে যায় ১৩৯ রানে। ৩১৫ রানের পিছিয়ে থেকে ফলোঅনে খেলতে নেমে ত্রিপুরা দ্বিতীয় ইনিংসে কোনও উইকেট না হারিয়ে মাত্র ১১ রান করে। প্রথম দিনের চার উইকেটে ৩১৯ রান নিয়ে খেলতে নেমে সৌরাষ্ট্র-র প্রথম ইনিংসে শেষ করে ৪৫৪ রানের। দলকে পাহাড়ের চুড়াই নিয়ে যেতে মুখ্য ভূমিকা নেন ভাগ্যরাজ সিং চোদাসামা এবং দলনায়ক রক্ষিত মেহেতা। ভাগ্যরাজ সিং ২৯৭ বল খেলে ২৬ টি বাউন্ডারির সাহায্যে ২০০ এবং রক্ষিত ২৮৩ বল খেলে ১৬ টি বাউন্ডারি ও দুটি ওভার বাউন্ডারির সাহায্যে ১৫০ রান করেন। ত্রিপুরার পক্ষে সন্দীপ সরকার ১৪১ রানে চারটি, দীপ্তনু চক্রবর্তী ৭৮ রানের তিনটি এবং দীপেন বিশ্বাস ৪৭ রানে দুটি উইকেট দখল করেন। জবাবে খেলতে নেমে তাসের ঘরের মতো ভেঙ্গে যায় ত্রিপুরার ইনিংস। চূড়ান্ত ব্যাটিং ব্যর্থতায় মরশুমের শুরু থেকেই কোন ঠাসা ছিল রাজ্য দল। এদিন আবার এর আভাস পাওয়া যায়। ত্রিপুরার ইনিংস গুটিয়ে যায় মাত্র ১৩৯ রানে। মিডল অর্ডারে অরিন্দম বর্মন যদি কিছুটা প্রতিরোধ গড়ে তুলতে না পারতেন তাহলে ত্রিপুরার স্কোর হয়তো বা একশ রানের গণ্ডি ওপার হতো না। অরিন্দম ৭৭ বল খেলে পাঁচটি বাউন্ডারি ও একটি ওভার বাউন্ডারির সাহায্যে ৪৩ রান করেন। এছাড়া দলের পক্ষে সপ্তজিৎ দাস ৩৬ বল খেলে চারটি বাউন্ডারি সাহায্যে ২৬, দ্বীপজয় দেব ৩৪ বল খেলে তিনটি বাউন্ডারির সাহায্যে ১৯ এবং অমিত আলী ৪১ বল খেলে তিনটি বাউন্ডারির সাহায্যে ১৯ রান করেন। সৌরাষ্ট্রের পক্ষে রাঠোর চন্দ্ররাজ ২৯ রানে তিনটি, তীর্থ চব্বিশ রানে এবং ক্রিয়ানস ২৮ রানে দুটি উইকেট দখল করেন। ৩১৫ রানের পিছিয়ে থেকে ফলোয়ানে খেলতে নেমে দ্বিতীয় দিনের শেষে ত্রিপুরা কোনও উইকেট না হারিয়ে ১১ রান করে। রাজ্য দলের পক্ষে দিপজয় দেব ১২ বল খেলে একটি বাউন্ডারির সাহায্যে ৬ রানে অপরাজিত রয়েছেন।
