ক্রীড়া মন্ত্রী টিংকু রায়ের আন্তরিক প্রচেষ্টায় নয় বছর পর উত্তর পূর্বাঞ্চলের মধ্যে অন্যতম বড় ফুটবল টূর্নামেন্ট হিসেবে পরিচিত ‘পদ্মজং ফুটবল টুর্নামেন্ট’ শুরু হতে যাচ্ছে কৈলাসহর কলেজ স্টেডিয়ামে। পদ্মজং ফুটবল টুর্নামেন্ট শুরুর খবর ইতিমধ্যেই সামাজিক মাধ্যমে চাউর হতেই গোটা ঊনকোটি জেলাবাসী সহ ফুটবল প্রেমীদের মধ্যে বাড়তি উন্মাদনা শুরু হয়েছে। শেষবারের মতো পদ্মজং ফুটবল টুর্নামেন্ট হয়েছিলো ২০১৬সালে। মূলত মন্ত্রী টিংকু রায়ের উদ্যোগে এবং ঊনকোটি জেলা ফুটবল এসোসিয়েশনের আহবানে একত্রিশ ডিসেম্বর বুধবার দুপুরে কৈলাসহরের সার্কিট হাউসের হলঘরে এক বৈঠক অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে। পদ্মজং ফুটবল টুর্নামেন্টকে কিভাবে করা যায় তার রূপরেখা তৈরির জন্যই বৈঠকে বিস্তৃত ভাবে আলোচনা হয়েছে। বৈঠকে মন্ত্রী ছাড়াও উপস্থিত ছিলেন ঊনকোটি জেলা ফুটবল এসোসিয়েশনের সভাপতি অরুন সাহা, ঊনকোটি জেলা পরিসদের সভাধিপতি অমলেন্দু দাস, ঊনকোটি জেলা পরিসদের সদস্য বিমল কর, ঊনকোটি জেলার জেলাশাসক ডক্টর তমাল মজুমদার, কৈলাসহর পুর পরিসদের চেয়ারম্যান চপলা রানী দেবরায়, বিশিষ্ট সমাজসেবী অরুপ ধর, হিমাংশু দাস, দুলাল দাস, প্রাক্তন বিধায়ক মবস্বর আলী, বিশিষ্ট সমাজসেবী পিন্টু ঘোষ, ত্রিলোকেশ্বর সিনহা, ঊনকোটি জেলার শিক্ষা দপ্তরের আধিকারিক প্রশান্ত কিলিকদার, অধ্যাপক সঞ্জীব চৌধুরী সহ আরও অনেকে। বৈঠকে ত্রিপুরা রাজ্যের ফুটবল এসোসিয়েশনের পক্ষে শুভেনজিত সিনহা, যুগ্ম সচিব তপন সাহা, রাজীব পাল এবং বিশিষ্ট কোচ সুভাষ বসু উপস্থিত ছিলেন। বৈঠক শেষে মন্ত্রী টিংকু রায় জানান যে, সবকিছু ঠিকঠাক থাকলে আগামী ৩১ জানুয়ারি থেকে কৈলাসহর কলেজ স্টেডিয়ামে পদ্মজং ফুটবল টুর্নামেন্ট শুরু হবে। উদ্ধোধনী ম্যাচে ত্রিপুরা রাজ্যের মহিলা ফুটবল টিমের সাথে আসাম রাজ্যের মহিলা ফুটবল টিমের মধ্যে খেলা হবে। উদ্ধোধনী ম্যাচটি রাতে হবে। উদ্ধোধনী ম্যাচের পূর্বে জমকালো লেজার শো সহ মনমাতানো সাংস্কৃতিক অনুষ্ঠান অনুস্টিত হবে। উদ্ধোধনী ম্যাচ ছাড়া টুর্নামেন্টের সবগুলো ম্যাচ বিকেলে অনুস্টিত হবে এবং দর্শকরা টিকিট কেটে প্রতিটি ম্যাচ উপভোগ করতে পারবে। মন্ত্রী আরও জানান যে, পদ্মজং ফুটবল টুর্নামেন্টে পশ্চিমবঙ্গ, আসাম, অরুনাচল, মিজোরাম, নাগাল্যান্ড, মনিপুর ইত্যাদি রাজ্যের দল অংশগ্রহণ করবে। তাছাড়া রাজ্যের পুলিশ টিম, বিএসএফ, সিআরপিএফ, স্পোর্টস স্কুলের টিমকেও আমন্ত্রণ জানানো হবে। ১৬-২০ টা ফুটবল দল অংশগ্রহণ করতে পারে বলে আশা প্রকাশ করছেন আয়োজকরা। টূর্নামেন্ট শুরুর পূর্বে কৈলাসহর কলেজ মাঠের কিছু কাজ করানো হবে এবং কলেজ মাঠকে আকর্ষণীয় ভাবে সাজিয়ে তোলার পাশাপাশি গোটা কৈলাসহর শহরে বিভিন্ন ফ্ল্যাগ ফেস্টুন দিয়েও সাজিয়ে তোলা হবে। পদ্মজং ফুটবল টুর্নামেন্টের যে গরিমা ছিলো সেই গরিমাকে কোনো অবস্থাতেই খাটো করা হবে না। বরং পদ্মজং ফুটবল টুর্নামেন্টের গরিমা বৃদ্ধির জন্য যা যা করতে হবে তাই করা হবে বলেও জানান মন্ত্রী টিংকু রায়। টুর্নামেন্টে উদ্ধোধন ক্রীড়া মন্ত্রী টিংকু রায়ের হাত ধরে হলেও টুর্নামেন্টের ফাইনাল ম্যাচে রাজ্যের মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মানিক সাহা উপস্থিত থাকতে পারেন। উদ্ধোধনী ম্যাচে পাহাড়ি বিছে বাইচুং ভুটিয়াকে আমন্ত্রণ জানানো হবে বলেও প্রাথমিকভাবে স্থির হয়েছে।
