কুশল জৈনের স্মৃতিতে আয়োজিত ‘২২তম কুশল ওপেন স্টেট ইনভাইটেশন টেনিস টুর্নামেন্ট’ শুরু হতে চলেছে। এই মর্যাদাপূর্ণ চ্যাম্পিয়নশিপে অংশ নিতে ইতিমধ্যেই বিভিন্ন রাজ্যের দলগুলো আগরতলায় পৌঁছাতে শুরু করেছে। মিজোরাম, মণিপুর, নাগাল্যান্ড, আসাম এবং ঝাড়খণ্ড থেকে দলগুলো ইতিমধ্যেই এসে পৌঁছেছে। বাংলা, মেঘালয় এবং অরুণাচল প্রদেশের বাকি দলগুলো আগামীকাল পৌঁছাবে বলে আশা করা হচ্ছে।
শুক্রবার বিকেল ৪টা নাগাদ টুর্নামেন্টের উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠান অনুষ্ঠিত হবে। উক্ত অনুষ্ঠানে প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত থাকতে সদয় সম্মতি জানিয়েছেন ত্রিপুরার ক্রীড়া ও যুব বিষয়ক মন্ত্রী টিঙ্কু রায়। সম্মানীয় অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত থাকবেন ত্রিপুরা সরকারের ক্রীড়া সচিব প্রদীপ চক্রবর্তী। এছাড়াও উপস্থিত থাকবেন মেঘালয় টেনিস অ্যাসোসিয়েশনের সম্পাদক ভিকি ভাদেরা, মণিপুর টেনিস অ্যাসোসিয়েশনের সম্পাদক হিদাংমায়ুম শশাঙ্ক শর্মা এবং ত্রিপুরা টেনিস অ্যাসোসিয়েশনের অন্যান্য উচ্চপদস্থ কর্মকর্তাবৃন্দ।
