ফিরে এসেছে যেনও ৭০-৮০ দশক। ওই সময় ফুটবল মাঠে থাকতো টানটান উত্তেজনা। ফুটবল প্রেমীরা ভিড় জমাতেন মাঠে। এরপরই কোথায় যেন উধাও হয়ে গেছিলো সেই স্মৃতিগুলো। বর্তমান ফুটবল সংস্থার কর্তারা আপ্রাণ চেষ্টা করে আবার সেই উত্তেজনা ফিরে আনলেন মাঠে। রাজ্য সরকারও চাইছে ত্রিপুরার খেলাধুলার উন্নতি। তাই বিভিন্ন পরিকাঠামো গড়ে উঠেছে। রবিবার সন্ধ্যায় সোনারতরী দ্বিতীয় ডিভিশন লিগ ফুটবলের উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠান শেষে একথা বলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী প্রফেসর ডঃ মানিক সাহা। তিনি বলেন, একসময় রাজ্যের ফুটবলাররা বা বিভিন্ন ইভেন্টের খেলোয়াররা ভিন রাজ্যে খেলতে গিয়ে বিভিন্ন সমস্যার মুখে পড়তো। এমনকি ফুটবল সংস্থার কর্তারা নির্দিষ্ট সময় খেলা শেষ করতে পারতো না। এখন ফ্লাড লাইট তৈরি হয়ে যাওয়ায় ফুটবলারদের যেমন সুবিধে হয়েছে তেমনি রাজ্য সংস্থার কর্তাদের সুবিধা হয়েছে দিন-রাত আসর করার এবং নির্দিষ্ট সময়ে খেলা শেষ করার। উমাকান্ত মিনি স্টেডিয়ামে উদ্বোধনী ম্যাচে মুখোমুখি হয় গেলো বারের তৃতীয় ডিভিশন ফুটবলে চ্যাম্পিয়ন ঐকতান যুব সংস্থা এবং গেলো বার দ্বিতীয় ডিভিশন ফুটবলে রানার্স স্কাইলার্ক ক্লাব। উমাক্রান্ত মিনি স্টেডিয়ামের ফ্লাড লাইটে অনুষ্ঠিত হয় ম্যাচ। মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বলেন, রাজ্যে প্রতিভার অভাব নেই। রাজ্যের প্রত্যন্ত অঞ্চলে বহু প্রতিভাবান খেলোয়াড় রয়েছে। রাজ্য সরকার বিভিন্ন পরিকল্পনা নেওয়ায় এখন ওইসব প্রতিভাবান খেলোয়াড়রা বেরিয়ে আসছে। বিশেষ করে জনজাতির খেলোয়াররা। আমাদের লক্ষ্য একটাই, ভালো মানের খেলোয়ার তৈরি করা। উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠানে এছাড়াও উপস্থিত ছিলেন ক্রীড়া দপ্তরের অধিকর্তা এস বি নাথ, তথ্য সংস্কৃতি দপ্তরের অধিকর্তা বিম্বিসার দেববর্মা, রাজ্য ফুটবল সংস্থার সভাপতি প্রণব সরকার এবং সচিব অমিত চৌধুরী সহ সংস্থার কর্তারা। নেশা মুক্তি রাজ্য গড়ার নিয়ে প্রতিজ্ঞাবদ্ধ বর্তমান রাজ্য সরকার। মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বলেন, যুবসমাজ যত মাঠ মুখী হবে ততই আমাদের পরিকল্পনা সঠিক বাস্তবায়ন হবে। খেলাধুলা করলে শরীর এবং মন সতেজ থাকে। পাশাপাশি ভালো মানুষ হিসেবে নিজেকে গড়ে তোলা যায়। তাই সকল অংশের মানুষকে মাঠ মুখী হওয়ার অনুরোধ রইলো। উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠানে দুই দলের ফুটবলারদের সাথে পরিচয় পর্বের শেষে বলে লাথি মেরে আসরের উদ্বোধন করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। পাশাপাশি বলে লাথি মারেন আসরের উদ্বোধক প্রাক্তন ফুটবলার লিটন মিঁয়া।
